2022 Year-End Update

TAJIKISTAN RECAP

We are so thankful for your prayers, friendship and financial support throughout this year. As the Central Asia Director for CSRM I want to emphasize that our ministry achievements could not happened without your partnership. As I have written before, since the year 2000, not one church has been granted a registration certificate. Moreover, I cannot take my children to church which is prohibited by the law until they are 18 years old.67% of the population is young, under the age of 35 as it is common for Tajik families to have at least 3-4 kids. Despite all law limitations, this situation makes sport a unique tool to serve M. communities, share Gospel with the young generation, and influence the future of Tajikistan. We are at a ‘historical moment’… Here are some highlights we achieved this year because of your support, my dear friends and partners:

·      5 family churches have been planted and are meeting regularly in Kazakhstan,Uzbekistan and Tajikistan (one of them is led by a 2nd generation disciple/Timothy).

·      20 coaches in Tajikistan in 7 sports regularly lead the discovery/discipleship for17,465 M. youth. 3,445 of them became followers of Jesus 518 people were baptized

·      Family Church Training was taught, and family churches have been planted in 6countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Russia,Afghanistan) and regularly meet for prayer (once a month) and staying on target in obedience and multiplication.

·      The number of trainers of DMM has multiplied locally. We have trained 100 people(50 families) across Central Asia.

·      To sustain our ministry, we are expanding our Business Incubator investment initiative to assist local leaders in starting businesses so that they can remain in Taj.

·      We are starting movements among unreached minorities: Luli, Afghan refugees, Yazgulymies, Yaghnobies.

SUMMER CAMPS

Despite all of these government limitations (challenges) the number of sport camps we were able to organized reached 12, held in different locations across country. These camps create great opportunities to build trusted relationship with M. teenagers and their families and to share the Gospel in natural ways. Our team often used ‘The Gospel Story-Arch Cube’ as they shared their personal testimony with more than 1000 M. kids from different sport clubs (soccer, frisbee, floorball, MMA, and volleyball). The camps give opportunities for the kid’s lives and rhythm to slow down to focus on the spiritual things, beyond the Muslim teaching they have heard throughout their childhoods. In total 20 children and 15 teenagers came to Christ this summer! When we asked them: “What impacted you most in your decision to follow Christ?”, their responses encouraged us to keep sharing the Gospel boldly and clearly. They said things like: “Because I heard from my coach about the creation of the Earth and Adam & Eve, and what God’s plan was from the very beginning. Then I understood why Jesus Christ came and died and rose again for me! I am so happy to understand and trust in God’s plan of Salvation”. As a result of these summer camps, we have now established 7 new sport clubs and 3 more MMA clubs which are led by new believers which we plan to grow into home churches!!

- Growing commitment and dedication of the core team for sport ministry in Taj and throughout C. Asia

- Organize coaching institute sessions for 20 coaches in TaJ and 2 family retreats for 25 coach’s families

- Organize a Christian soccer league for 7 Christian outreach teams

- Develop 2 Bible Discovery Groups with 6 teams in new sports

- Organize 15 Christian summer sports camps all over the country

- Launch a fitness gym for Christian coaches in Dushanbe

- Launch 5 Christian Discovery Clubs for athletes fromChristian sports clubs

- Purchase a building to be developed as are source and training center and camp

1. GarageGym development, equipment, and facility costs: $7,000.

4. Work with Gypsy and Afghans (humanitarian aid and social transformation sport projects): $15,000

5. SummerSports Camps costs: $15,000

6. Coach’sFamily Retreats: $12,000

7. SportsForum for all sports ministry leaders in Tajikistan: $6,500

8. VirtualBusiness Incubator: $25,000 (investment goal – funds are invested and then repaid to be invested again)

9. SendingSports Leaders to international trainings and meetings: $7,000
