TAJIKISTAN 2024
april-july
This year's word from God for us is “multiplication. So when I heard this word from God, I had a lot of questions in my mind. The first question was:
How is God going to implement this word through our lives and ministry?
How is He going to challenge us so that we will show our obedience to His word for 2024? As we all know, God’s thoughts and God’s way of making things happen completely different than we might expect. I arrived from my USA trip in February to see all my friends, and that night I received a phone call from Our gypsy church, telling me news that the leader of the church had passed away right now because of health issues. This is the first challenge that challenged me to trust God to complete His vision about “multiplication”.
I recently had the incredible opportunity to visit a gypsy church and spend time with my disciples. During my visit, I witnessed a powerful moment as the leader of the church was passing away. She entrusted her sons to stay connected with me, follow all instructions, and seek wisdom from the Bible. After her passing, her sons asked me to place a headstone on her tomb in the Muslim cemetery. I agreed, with the condition that we inscribe a verse from the New Testament on the headstone, sharing the message of resurrection with those who visit the cemetery.
The impact of this simple act was truly astonishing. Many Muslims visiting the cemetery had the opportunity to read the verse, bringing God's word to life in a powerful way. Following this, one of her sons had a dream about Jesus calling them to follow Him and drink the water of life. Now, both of her sons are strong believers, boldly sharing the Gospel in their community and workplaces. Their mother's testimony has sparked a ripple effect, and they are now inviting us to spread the message to different locations in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. It's truly amazing to witness God's glory multiplied in such unexpected ways!
An incredible story to share with you! It's about how God brought the concept of "multiplication" to our ministry to the Afghan people. I recently helped rescue the family of one of my disciples from Kabul, as they were being hunted by the Taliban. Thanks to the support of friends and partners, we were able to get the family to safety. Unfortunately, not everyone could be rescued, and two family members lost their lives. But here's the amazing part - this rescue mission opened up a unique opportunity for Afghan disciples to share their faith with other Afghan refugees in northern Tajikistan. My disciple asked me to accompany him to meet his former military commander there, so we made the trip. On the last day of the Muslim fasting month, his former commander invited us to his home for a meal with other Afghan community leaders. During this gathering, my disciples had the opportunity to share their faith, and now, house churches have been established in the area.I'm thrilled to say that we are now actively supporting and nurturing the spiritual growth of those who have embraced the faith. It's truly an incredible journey, and I can't wait to see how this story continues to unfold!
Remember when I asked for your prayers for our elder sons in Russia? Well, I'm thrilled to report that they are back home with us in Tajikistan, safe and sound. It's been an amazing journey seeing God's word of "multiplication" come to life in our family and at our house church.
After spending four years away in Russia, our sons faced a lot of challenges and traumas. But after arriving back home, we made sure they received training in Siberia focusing on discipleship and leadership. This training really helped them to adjust to life back home and understand their roles in our house church ministry. Now, both of our sons are fully involved in ministry at the house church and are leading a project to teach literacy at a Gypsy Church. The Gypsy community has welcomed them with open arms and is working hard to improve their writing and reading skills in Tajik and Russian languages. It's been such a beautiful transformation to see them not only adjust to life back home but also thrive in ministry. I couldn't be more proud of them!
This is how god multiple His Glory Through the third generation of disciples in Tajikistan. We had an incredible experience with the third generation of disciples in our church planting team in the southern part of Tajikistan. When I arrived, we had a breakthrough at the multiplication school last November. One of the disciples was inspired after hearing testimonies from the first generation of disciples about how God used them to become coaches. Despite having spent his entire life in the sewing business, he developed a strong desire to become a soccer coach. After just three months of practice, he invited us to organize a community sports festival in his area to inspire trust in his coaching among the Muslim community. After the successful sports festival, another leader and I felt led by the Holy Spirit to encourage this third-generation disciple to start a house church in his apartment. We left the place and, three weeks later, the disciple reported back to us. It turns out that a few parents approached him after the event and asked to start a Bible discovery group because they felt a strong sense of trust and love. Now, he and his mother are leading a Bible discovery group in their house for the parents of the children who attend his soccer team. Such an incredible example of God's work in action!
